                                          Sirocco Works 0-2 Crumlin Star

Before Wednesdays big cup final against Islandmagee the Star had to face league leaders Sirocco Works over at Wilgar Park in East Belfast. Sirocco were 16 points ahead of the Star due to them playing six games more so the Star players knew that a defeat would surely put a massive dent in the Star's quest for four back to back titles. After a tight first half hour the Star started to take a hold of the game and just before the break Fra Murphy put the Star in front after some great work from Paul Brown put him through on goal for the silky striker to make it 1-0 to the Star.

Sirocco dominated the early stages of the second half but never really created any clear cut chances and when Paul McLarnon made it 2-0 midway through the half the game was as good as over. After a bad clearance from the Sirocco keeper the ball fell to McLarnon who's first time volley flew into the top corner from all of 25 yards.

Sirocco where reduced to nine men when their captain hacked down man of the match Mooney once again and another player got his marching orders late on as the home side seemed to lose their cool.
