Bangor Amateurs 0-12 Crumlin Star The Star totally out played a Bangor Amateurs side on Saturday and could've scored a lot more goals than the 12 they managed to score. Straight from the off the Star dominated possession and created a host of early chances but failed to take any of them. But once Jim Campbell headed home the opener on the half hour make the flood gates seemed to open. Within ten minutes of taking the lead the Star found themselves 4-0 up after McAlea, Reid & Gormley all found their scoring touch with some excellent finishes. Gormley got his second of the day just before the break when he brilliantly lobed the ball over the stranded Amateurs keeper to send the Star in 5-0 up at half time.
H/T 5-0
Again the second period was all one way traffic as the home side endured a torrid 45 minutes. Campbell got his second of the day soon after the restart when he fired home a Mooney cross. Gormley secured his hat trick minutes later when he refiled home a 25 yard screamer into the bottom corner and not long after he got his fourth of the game when he cheekily rounded the keeper and passed the ball into the empty net to make it 8-0 to the Star.Campbell chipped the keeper to score his first ever hat trick then Brown, Burns & McKinney all got on the scoring act to make it a resounding 12-0 to the Star. Next week the Star are home to Iveagh United in a league fixture at Solitude, it will be the Star's first home game there and would like to see as many supporters as possible make the short trip over to Solitude. Kick Off 2:00pm.
Joe Gormley has netted 15 goals already this season.
