SECONDS CHAMPIONS!!! UUJ II 2 - 6 Crumlin Star II Star won the title on Saturday May 1st with an emphatic 6-2 win against second placed UUJ II at Jordanstown. This was Star's first season in 3B and showed throughout the season why they were champions. Joe Gormley got a hat trick, Osborne, O'Halloran and Cairns were on the scoresheet as Star over run the Jordanstown side with some excellent football played with skill and pace that they could not handle. The managment of Jim Hagans and Larry Toner were delighted with the win and the title success as they look forward to leading their side into 3A next year. Crumlin Star II 3 - 3 Ford II Star played their last game of the season on saturday. It was a nothing game as both sides had nothing to play for and Star had already secured the title. Star went ahead early on when Quail finished well from a tight angle hwoever Ford hit back straight away. S Murray then missed 4 gilt edged chances however Ciaran Gormley did put Star ahead with a clever finish. S Murray then lobbed the keeper to make it 3-1 however Ford scored 2 late goals to secure a draw. WELL DONE TO HAGEY, TOWSER AND THE STAR SECONDS PLAYERS FOR AN EXCELLENT SEASON!
