Star beat in Cochrane & Corry final

                                                                               Crumlin Star 1-3 Immaculata

The Star lost out to high flying Immaculata in the final of the Cochrane & Corry cup. It was a repeat of last years final in which the Star won 3-1 but this year the tables where reversed with the Mac running out deserved 3-1 winners. In what was a poor first half both teams struggled to get any passing game going as the hard bumpy surface looked difficult to play on. As the half wore on Immaculata started to get into their rhythm and started to create a few chances and in a five minute spell they went 2-0 up when strikers Dynes & Hughes both took their chances well. Seamy Nellis pulled a goal back for the Star early on in the second half to give the Star a bit of hope but the Mac made the game safe on the hour when O'Riordan  headed home from a corner. All in all the Star just didn't produce the goods on the day and didn't deserve anything from the game but still have the Junior Shield Final to look forward to next Thursday night against fierce rivals Ardoyne WMC at Solitude.
