                                                                              Grange Rangers 0-4 Crumlin Star

The star had a comfortable victory over Grange Rangers last Thursday night in Ballyclare. Chris Devenny opened the scoring after 10 minutes when he broke clear on goal and side footed the ball past the keeper to give the Star the lead. A cracking Paul Brown free kick on the half hour mark doubled the Star's advantage to send them in 2-0 up at half time. Anto Braniff scored his 13th of the season midway through the second period when McConnall put him through on goal for the midfielder to make it 3-0 and Joe Gormley came of the bench to round of the scoring when he fired home from close range to make it 4-0 to the Star.

                                                                                   Kilroot Rec 3-2 Crumlin Star

The Star suffered their first league defeat of the season to Kilroot last Saturday. With key players missing such as Reid, Gormley, Mooney and Brown the Star where dealt another blow when captain Anto Braniff was forced off after only 5 minutes with a foot injury. The Star fell behind early on when a long put into the box was headed home by the Kilroot striker. Paul Brown equalised soon after with a close range finish to send the sides in level at half time. The second period was dominated by the Ardoyne side but missed chances where again going to be the teams downfall and soon enough the Star found themselves 2-1 down when Kilroot scored a cracking free kick. Brown equalised soon after from a Devenny cross as the Star went looking for the winner but in injury time the home side snatched all 3 points when there winger found himself unmarked to slot the ball beyond Thompson to make it 3-2 at the final whistle.

                                                                               Crumlin Star 2-0 Newtonbreda

After dropping their first points of the season away to Newtonbreda the Star where eager to put things right against the South Belfast side. From start to finish the Star dominated the game and should've scored more than the two they did get. Again top scorer Paul Brown opened the scoring with a delightful chip over the helpless keeper to give the Star a deserved lead. It wasn'tuntil late in the second half that the Star secured all 3 points when they where awarded a penalty for hand ball, Gormley stepped up and seen his effort excellently saved by the away teams keeper but Gormley was first to the rebound and he blasted the ball into the roof of the net to make it 2-0 to the Star.

                                                                                       Ford 0-3 Crumlin Star

When the fixtures where given out weeks ago this was billed as the toughest game that both team had left but with injuries to the Star's team and Ford resting most of their players due to their Junior Cup commitments it was more like a game from 3B rather than a 2A fixture. Gormley had the chance to give the Star the lead early on from the spot but blasted over, this was the only real effort on goal in what was a poor first half. The second period was a more open game with the Star just shading it. Mooney came of the bench to open the scoring in the 70th minute when he headed home a Reid cross. Gormley then doubled the Star's lead soon after when he broke clear and made no mistake with his finish. Mooney rounded of the scoring with a close range finish to send the Star 4 points clear at the top with 2 games in hand.
