CRUMLIN STAR II 0 - 0 BLOOMFIELD II Star II were held to a scoreless draw against a battling Bloomfioeld side at Mallusk. This was Star's first game in 6 weeks and this told in the early stages with Bloomfield having the better of the play however they caused no danger to Mc Neill in goal. Star came more into the game and the midfield of O Halloran, Gormley, S Murray and Cairns got on the ball more to get Star's passing game going. Star's first chance fell to Doyle who shot straight at the keeper and M Hawkins saw a header go over the bar from a corner. Some good play down the left from O'Neill and Cairns saw O Halloran get a sight on goal but his shot was blocked on the line. Star then hit the post twice in quick succession when a Gormley shot hit the post and the rebound fell to O'Neill who hit the post as well and with the an open goal Toner missed from 5 yards after the ball hit of his heel. The second half saw Star start brightly with O Halloran having a few shots on goal and Doyles pace and direct running creating himself some chances however his shots were off target. Star had 3 corners in a row and Doyle and Mc Mullan hit the bar and the keeper pulled of a good save from a flick on at the near post. Star backline of Mc Mullan, Hawkins, debutant Steveson and O Neill were comfortable and had very little to do. Star made a few subs with Cairns, Murray and O Halloran bein replaced by Quail, Mc Coey and D Murray. Star pressed for the winner but would come up short and had to settle for a point. F/T 0-0
