                             Crumlin Star 2-1 Bangor Swifts

The Star continued their recent good form with a hard fought win over Bangor Swifts at Mallusk on Saturday. A spirited second half performance seen the Star come from a goal behind, goals from Ciaran Reid and Paul Brown made it ten wins in a row for the Ardonians. Star fell behind as early as the 3rd minute when a Swifts player let fly from 30 yards to leave Thompson in goal no chance. It took the Star 20 minutes to get into their rhythm but once they did they dominated the rest of the game. From a Reid corner Paul Brown blazed over when he should have did better while Barry McKervey and Mark Mooney also had goal scoring efforts saved.
H/T 0-1
The second period started as the first finished with the Star well on top as the Ardoyne men held their opposition in their final third and won a series of corners. From a short corner with Barry McKervey, Ciaran Reid cut inside and curled a majestic effort into the top corner to bring the Star deservedly level. Not long after top scorer Paul Brown added to his already impressive tally when he played a wonder-full one-two with strike partner Mooney and cheekily slotted the ball home to put the Star in the lead. McNally replaced the tiring McKervey to add some fresh legs as the Star hung on for a vital 3 points in the title race.
Next week the Star are at home to Ardglass in a league fixture at Mallusk, KO 2:00pm.
