Image Charlie McClean Centerback Big Charlie played for the Star from 1979 to 2002 and also managed the team on several occasions. He played for Bangor and Cromac Albion bofore the Star and was as hard as a rock in the center of the defence. Charlie is currently the Chairman of the Crumlin Star club.
Image Micky McGuiness Right back Micky played for the Star in the 80's & early 90's. He was a fine defender who liked to get forward at every chance. Micky still goes to every Star game at the moment and is a true Starman.
Image Gary McGerty Midfield Gary had a few spells with the club but his most successful time was when he was player manager with Artie McAlea from 20004-2006. He did the double in his first season winning 2B & the Cochrane & Corry cup (scoring the winner in the final) then winning 2A the next season. He also won the Bobby Sands cup too. Gary was a powerfull midfielder and a leader on the field aswell.
Image Paul Trainor Forward Big Chew also had a few spells with the club whilst playing for Derry City and Dundalk in between. He managed Moyola Park before returning to the Star in 2005. Chew was a big target man up front but also had an eye for a goal.
Image Seany Brown defender Seany was a fine defender who played for the club in the late 80's & early 90's. Seany still supports the Star and would be seen on the line in most matches home and away. His two sons Sean & Paul have followed in his foot steps and dawned the Star jesery.
Image John McGuiness Defender John played for the Star in the 80's and early 90's. Where ever you see the Star playing today you'll see John there with his wife as they barely miss a game. John's family are true Star men, his father played for the Star in the late 40's and 50's and was part of the famous Junior Cup winning side.
Image Paddy Conway Right Back Paddy played for the Star in the 90's he also managed the team and guided them to the 2C title. Paddy was the only person to start a Crumlin Star youth side and had tremendous success with them with such players as Micheal Ingham (Wrexham & N.Ireland) Aidan O'Kane (Linfield) and current Star player Anto Braniff in his side. Paddy is now with Cliftonville and doing very well with them.
