Joe"Arkle" Mc Laughlin

Although joe played for Bovril in his younger days, he was a starman through and through. He was the heart and soul of the public bar and he always had an opinion on how the football team was playing. Joe died in 2008 and is sadly missed by all.

GoalKeeper
Ciaran played for the Star from he was 17 years old and was an excellent keeeper. He was a member of the Star social club and was a starman through and through. He sadly died in 1999 and is missed by everyone.

Centre Back
Big Charlie played for the Star from 1979 until 2002 and managed the sides on several occasions. He played for Bangor and Cormac Albion and was as hard as nails at centre half. Charlie was Chairman of the Social Club for several years.

Right Back
Micky played for the Star in the 80's and early 90's. He was a fine defender who liked to attack at every opportunity. He is still a supporter of the club and a true Starman.

Centre Midfield
Gary had a few spells at the club but he was at his most successful when he was player manager with Artie McAlea from 2004-2006. He won 2B and the Cochrane&Corry Cup where he scored the winner and won 2A the season after. Gary was a leader on the pitch where his strength and power overawed opponents.
Image Paul Trainor
Forward
Big chew also had a few spells with the club while playing for Derry Cityand Dundalk in between. He returned to the Star in 2005 before going onto Cliftonville's management team. Chew was a big target man upfront who got goals. 
Image Seany Brown
Defender
Seany was a fine defender who played for the club in the 80's and 90's. He is still a keen supporter of the Star as his three sons now play for the club. He can be seen winding up Opponents on the sideline most Saturdays while taking money off the players afterwards playing pool in the bar!
Image John McGuiness
Defender
John played for the Star in the 80's and 90's. He was a good defender and still goes to the Star's matches today. His father was part of the Junior Cup winning team in 1953.
Image Paddy Conway
Right Back
Paddy has played and managed the Star in his footballing career during the 90's. He was the only person to start a Crumlin Star youth team and had great success. He now manages St Pats.
Image Gary Whelan
Forward
Big Gazza played for the Star from the mid 90's to 2007. He has won 2A,2B, 2C and the Cochrane&Corry Cup. The big striker always scored goals!
Image Tommy Scott
Defender
Tommy played for the Star in the 1940's and 50's. He loved the club that much he was physio up until 2007. He won the Junior Cup in 1953. Tommy passed away in 2010 and was a true Starman!
Image Kevin McVeigh
Goalkeeper
Slick has had several spells with the club and is now secretary of the club. He holds the record for the oldest player to play for the Star. Kevin was a great goalkeeper and still helps the GKs in training.

Defender
Fido played for the Star from the 90's until 2009 where henow is on the management team of Cliftonville FC reserves. He had won countless trophies with the club. Fido was a skilful player who always helped the younger players in the club.

MidfieldMicky played for the Star from the 90's until 2008. He is known as one of the best players to play for the club with his goalscoring records from midfield and his footballing ability. He has won countless troophies with the club and was named player of the year on several occasions.
Image Paul Scullion
Forward
Scully played for the Star from the mid 90's until 2007 winning leagues and Cups along the way. He managed the second team from 2007-2009 and won 3C leading the seconds into 3B for the first time in the Star's history. Paul was the cousin of Ciaran who played for the club as well!

Defender
Big Mick was one of the longest serving players in the Star's history with over 15 years service! Micky won many trophies and was a no nonsense defender who was unbeatable in the air.
Image Jim Hagans
Defender
Hagey has been at the Star since he was 16 and still plays the odd game for the second team. He is a Starman through and through and has been involved since the dark days of 2C until the club rise to intermediate football. He also managed the seconds in 3B and lead them to the title in their first season in 3B. Jim has took a backseat in recent years to watch his son play but still goes to all the Star's matches.

Defender
Frankie played for the Star in the 80's and 90's and was a fine defender alongside Charlie and Chew Trainor. Opposition striker hated playing against Frankie who was known for his tackling. Frankie managed the Star in the late 90's and lead them to the 2C title.

Defender
Danny played for the Star in the mid 80's to the late 90's where he won the 2B title. Danny was a tough defender and who two brothers and father also played for the Star. He was part of the management team in 2004 with Artie McAlea.
Image Artie Mc Alea
Defender
Artie played for the Star but his most successful stint was when he was manager from 2004 until 2006. He helped put the Star back on top after many years of disappointment and underachievement. He won 2B and the Cochrane&Corry Cup and 2A.

Micky was the long serving secretary of the club with over 12 years service to helping the football side function. Micky oversaw the rise of the club from 2C to 1C and intermediate football. He also played the odd game and in his 12 years span he had more medals than anyone at the club! Micky moved on from the club to the Mals in 2011.
Image Antony Braniff
Midfield

Anto played for the Star for over 10 years after spells with clubs like Cliftonville, Carrick Rangers, Portadown and Banbridge. Anto has won almost everything at Junior level with the Star from 2C, 2B, 3 2A titles, 3 C&C Cups, a 1C title, 3 Bobby Sands Cups and a Junior Shield. He was also Player of the year on several occassions for the club but his highest honour was being voted Junior Amateur Player of the Year in 2004. Anto has sadly had to retire in 2011 due to work commitments but still supports the club at every chance.

Midfield
After the Star came back into existence in 1981 Peter was there throughout the 80's and early 90's. He won the Scrabo Shield in 1982 and after joing the NAFL he won two 2B titles in 1984 & 1991. Peter represented the Star for the NAFL select team on numerous occasions as he was a well respected player throughout the NAFL.

Defender
Masher joined the Star as a young kind in the early 90's and didnt take long to make the first team with fellow youngster Micky Doran. He won a 2C title under Frankie Young and in his twilight years won a few titles with the seconds.
