Crumlin Star II 6 - 3 Mossley II

Star II's picked up 3 points over Mossley II at Mallusk on Saturday. Star playing against the wind started well and had a few half chances on goal that came to nothing. With 20 minutes gone Teer broke the offside trap on the left and finished well into the far corner to give Star the lead. Hawkins had a great chance to double Star advantage however he headed over from a corner. Star did double their advantage when (S) Murray scored from 25 yards low into the bottom corner. Star went 3 goals infront when (L) Toner powered his way through the Mossley defence and finished cooly into the bottom corner. Star were comfortable and any Mossley attacks were well dealt with by the Star defence and midfield. H/T 3-0 

At half time Scully urged his players to kill the game off with a few more goals and 5 mins into the second half Teer hit a 30 yard freekick up and over the wall and the ball sailed off the post and into the net. Star had more chances to go ahead even further however young (J) Doyle, Mc Mullan and Gormley all missed chances. Star then let their concentration slip and Mossley responded by scoring 3 goals in 10 mins to set up a nervy last 25 mins. Scully brought on (D) Murray for (L) Toner and moved Teer up front and he got his hat trick when he latched on to a (S) Murray through ball and chipped the keeper to put Star 2 goals ahead. (J) Doyle hard work paid off when he curled a shot off the underside of the bar and into the net. Manager Scully was pleased with the win. F/T 6-3
